I’m a “Specialized Generalist”

I’ve been working on my craft since the Summer of 2005, both agency-side and in-house, spanning clients including Reddit, Square, Uber, Google, Jordan, Nike, Old Navy, Gap, Red Bull and many more.

Over the years the marcomm production game has become increasingly siloed, documentation-laden, “assembly lined”…and clunky as a result. Program Managers referee business unit/account-level operating needs. Marketing Ops Managers outline how marcomms function, define what tools are used and establish interaction protocols with other business functions. Project Managers police time, budget and scope on projects. Producers make project deliverables.

Conversely, I strive to be a “Specialized Generalist”. Understanding how these disciplines operate, and interact amongst themselves and other functions, with a high proficiency. My experience allowing me to play an amorphous blend of roles, and move business with pace, effectively.

At this stage in my career, I am looking to partner with organizations, teams and individuals who are dynamic, intelligent problem solvers. They know the black and white well, but most critically, they’re intimately familiar with the grays.

They understand that rules and processes are guidelines - not mandates - and they’re comfortable making audibles at the line in real-time to deliver truly great work.

I am currently available for a wide-range of opportunities - FTE, Freelance, Contracting and Consulting. Part-time to Full-time.

What I Do

Lead teams of project managers and producers running full lifecycle projects and building things.

Participate in cross-functional leadership, implement marketing processes, define how teams interact, what tools are leveraged, plan and forecast work against business goals.

What I Have Done

Made deliverables directly as an integrated producer.

Managed projects directly, with specialized producers responsible for subset(s) of deliverables.

Functioned as both a project manager, and integrated producer, at the same time.
