I’ve been working on my craft for over 20-years. Leading teams in-house at Reddit (2x), Chime, Square, and Uber, as well as agency-side for Jordan Brand, Nike, Google and numerous other clients.
Over the years the brand and product marcomm delivery game has become increasingly siloed, documentation-laden, “assembly lined”…and clunky as a result.
Program Managers establish frameworks in alignment with strategic business goals. Creative Ops focuses on tooling, throughput, consistency and repeatability. Project Managers oversee time, budget, scope, quality and XFN project communications. Producers read the field in real-time, make plays and deliver.
Significant personnel time and budget is spent designing offenses on paper, and then falling short when the leadership skill and experience isn’t there to adapt and lead teams through wide ranging, in-game pivots.
I’ve played every role here as a Manager, and IC, under a myriad of circumstances and organizational constructs. I know them intimately. It’s why I’m a “Specialized Generalist”. I understand how these disciplines operate, and interact amongst themselves and other functions, with a high proficiency. My experience allows me to make strategically informed moves, while playing an amorphous blend of roles, leading teams and effectively moving business with pace.
At this stage in my career, I am looking to partner with organizations, teams and individuals who are dynamic, intelligent problem solvers. They know the black and white well, but most critically, they openly embrace the grays.
They understand that rules and processes are guidelines - not mandates - and they’re comfortable making audibles at the line in real-time to deliver truly great work.
